Built at the Fender Custom Shop 12-89 by Luthier Michael Stevens Sn 0006

This guitar was made by famed luthier Michael Stevens while he was head of the Fender Custom Shop in the late '80s. For a great review and overview of Stevens' work visit Review.

Stevens made very few of these wonderful guitars during his stay at Fender. MK has used it on many recordings - the song "Beautiful" on "Sluggo!" features the LJ throughout, including the closing solo, and it can also be heard in sections of the original studio recording of "Lightnin' Roy." It's also heard on the guitar solo at the end of the version of "Siberian Khatru" which MK recorded with Kevin Gilbert for the "Tales From Yesterday" Yes tribute album. Comes with guitar case custom-painted by artist Joe Brundage.

Glad you have the guitar sorry to here Mike does not own it anymore, hurts my feeler.
Guitar was a bit of an experiment that I did not tell Marketing about. Alder body, plain maple top, was to have a maple neck but ended up with mahog.

Pickups if stock are Dimarrzios co design me and Steve Blucher. Sorta vintage/ceramic magnets, clean tap well,good for chord solo country dont color effects etc.
vol,tone,tone each tone is coil tap,top tone neck,middle ,bottom tone bridge only , never more than two knobs work at once. Code inside control cavity serial # H for honeycomb, C for chambered S or nothing for solid.That is an early one may have missed codes?
